Teacher Profile

Mr. Francavilla has taught the digital media program at Petaluma High School since 2000. His expertise continually provides students with the computer skills and design techniques that will enhance students’ success with their education at Petaluma High School and as they begin their college studies and their future careers.

Mr. Francavilla creates a collaboration between graphic design, 3d animation and web programming. This integration produces a new standard for quality in the industry.

Mr. Francavilla has been teaching for almost 20 years. He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University, with a minor in Business Education. Mr. Francavilla has been inspiring graphic designers, web site designers and 3D animators at Petaluma High School for the past decade. He is also well versed in Adobe Creative Suite, XHTML and CSS coding and 3D Studio Max. Mr. Francavilla is the lead for the Media, Arts and Entertainment career cluster, he is on the school's technology committee, he is the site liaison between Petaluma High and the Sonoma County Office of Education Career Development Program, and sits on the county Media and Communications Advisory committee.

Mr. Francavilla has also worked closely with the Santa Rosa Junior college in getting his classes articulated with the college. Currently Webpage Design and 3D Animation can both be taken for 3 SRJC credits each.

Now is the time to start developing college level skills.
3D Animation and Web Page Design are available for college credit.

Through his efforts, Mr. Francavilla has created articulation agreements with the Sant Rosa Junior college. Credit by Exam allows you to become part of the college community while still in high school.

The college credits you earn in these classes are transferrable to the CSU system and other colleges throughout California.
