CAREER PATHWAYS IN TECHNOLOGY AND INDUSTRY
               

These classes are designed to provide a foundation in engineering and related design sectors for students. Our instructional programs offer integrated courses of study by combining academic learning with career and technical  training. Career pathways such as Engineering, Architecture, Applied Math and Science, Construction Technology, Manufacturing, and Automotive Technology are offered as specialized areas of interest. To prepare students for continued success in these careers, these programs offer students a multi-faceted approach using these components: classroom and hands-on contextual learning, project and work based instruction, internships, career technical education, and leadership & interpersonal skills development. In addition, articulation agreements with the Santa Rosa Junior College will allow students to meet prerequisites for SRJC courses with high school coursework. Academic coursework in science, mathematics and English are part of the core curriculum in addition to the coursework in these exciting and challenging electives.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Industrial Technology Department is to provide quality educational programs related to economic and employment realities in the fields of Engineering, Design and Apprenticeship Trades.

Our programs are structured to provide college and career preparation. Our students will have the opportunities to develop and enhance their academic knowledge through hands-on skills needed to succeed in the technology workplace and to foster a desire for lifelong learning.

Goals

The Industrial Technology Department seeks to implement its mission by:

  • Providing excellence in instruction and appropriate educational opportunities for students and faculty.
  • Providing state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for students to experience.
  • Emphasizing industry collaboration including; internships, guest lecturers and apprenticeship opportunities to enhance the quality of our programs.
  • Through partnerships with science and math programs we will provide students with real-world applications of core academic subjects to enhance their potential for college and career success.
  • Provide opportunities to develop skills and attitudes to succeed in the workplace.
